Props To Some Good Guys

Hey Everybody:

Just wanted to give a shout out for some of the excellent work done by members of this website on my behalf!

Props to Jeremy of Invisiguard, who drove 60 miles each way to come out and install a "clearbra" on my car a couple months ago (he charged extra for the drive, but probably not enough). He was on time, professional, did the job well, and his work was excellent. VERY happy with the results, and recommend him to anyone in the SF Bay area for this service!

Mad props also to "Wil" of Mach III, who also drove out (another approx 60 miles each way, for which he charged, but again, probably not enough) and installed my Madico window tint a few weeks ago. Not only was he also professional, on time, pleasant, and did excellent work, but when a "flaw" in the tint film surfaced the next day, he came all the way back out and replaced the rear window tint at no charge, on the 4th of July no less!!

These guys are awesome, very service oriented, and I believe, go out of their way to keep G35 driver's happy! They also offer some great deals when ordering their services as a member of this website. I recommend both of these guys to all of you!

(no compensation from them, nor do they even know I'm posting this - I just believe in what's right, and giving credit where it's due).

Thanks, GeoBau:

I see where all the "performance" modders and sponsors seem to get their due (and well deserved), just wanted to give recognition to those in the "other" fields that make our "G"'s stand out.

Re: Props To Some Good Guys

Wil, I have a question for you, since you seem to be quite the tint expert!

I recently got some 23% Llumar tint done in my coupe and even though the shop came highly recommended, I have some pin-sized bubbles that are hardly noticable. also, the black dotted areas on rear and side windows look "spotty" and uneven.

These things are very hard to notice unless you are looking for them... but my concern is, are they guaranteed to get worse in time?
I definitely don't want to have ugly, peeling tint in a few years (after some cold canadian winters, etc)

is there a way they can fix those problems without redoing the whole thing?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Props To Some Good Guys

I actually redid blackg35guy's tint (which was done by another shop) a while ago for the same reason. Those tiny specs are actually dust spots that will not get worse over time unless it's exposed to extreme heat for many hrs. Unfortunately, no tint installation company work in a dust-free environment, so dust is likely to get onto the film. BUT having a few specs on one film should be the standard for acceptability. When you start seeing it getting very spotty, that's when the installation is bad.

I rarely have problems w/ spotty installs, but I'm not perfect and once in a rare while I'll have a bad day.........however, in those cases, I'll just redo it before I hand the car over to the customer.

I can't really say whether or not those spots you're seeing can be removed because it depends on the size of the dust particles. The smaller spots can be removed. If you are local, swing by and let me take a look @ it. If it's not too bad and if we're not too packed I could take care of it for you free of charge as a courtesy for a G owner.

Re: Props To Some Good Guys

Yeah... this makes me wish even more that I live on the west coast. But alas, i am stuck here in crummy Toronto with horrible canadian winters and shitty tinters..

now I just have to find the time to get it fixed... it's not very apparent, only can see if you look for it in direct sun light.

the back window is the worst around the top dotted area. looks like the film is not sticking inbetween the dots so those areas a lighter looking...
