carbon fiber

hey.. i got my carbon fiber hood not too long ago and i know that the only way to protect it is by waxing it. i take my car to get it detailed but i have a problem. where i work at there is no shade which sucks!! since summer is coming i asked the detailer what can i do to have extra protection and of course his only answer was by waxing it. i was recently in a pepboys buying soap and a bucket to wash my car and i came across sprayed waxes. i thought that it would be a good idea for me since in the morning i can apply it go to work and be protected for the day. can anyone let me know if this is a good idea? if so. what brand? thanks

If its got some layers of clear coat on the hood that should be good enough really. I use the spray wax as well and it does help protect the car from moisture and UV rays. You really don't need to take that much care of the hood if its got good clear coat.

well the thing is since i park in direct sunlight i am afraid the top coat might get messt up so i was thinking of just having the extra protection.. what brand do you recommend??

i use the Carnauba Cleaner Wax from Turtle Wax. http://www.turtlewax.com/main.taf?p=2,1,4,4

Ive been using it for some time now and its really easy to apply. Wash the car and clean it off with a microfiber cloth. Then before the car is dry you just spray it around a few times and spread it around with the cloth. You really don't need to spray more than maybe 6-8 times for the entire car.

a lot of members use the tech 2.0 that aren't real detail gurus b/c it's easy and has a good shine and good protection. There's a deal going on amazon that's selling the wax, quick detailer, car wash soap and some other things.. there was a post just a couple days ago, but you can probably just google it

yea it looks pretty good, although I already have most of the things, otherwise I'd buy it. I'd recommend a claybar as well if you haven't already clayed your car, or get a full body detail and fresh wax
