Re: i hate black

Racism is alive and well I see.

All black cars show scratches. I don't think the paint is soft because they are hard to get out.

Try Meguires show car glaze. It makes black look real black, like the paint is wet. Then follow up with Hi-Tech Yellow wax, also by Meg.

For scratches, try Meg's swirl remover.

I dont work for Meguires or sell it. It just works great.

Yes, the EPA mandated car manufacturers to switch over to more enviornmentaly friendly water-based paints to limit atmospheric polutants. Its not so much that they are "softer" as they are generally weaker and more brittle than old solvent based paints since they are applied in a very thin, semi dry layer that is then quickly heated in an almost powder-coating process. This semi-solid application is what also leads to the orange peeling alot of people are complaining about. In time manufactures will refine the process but for now, factory paint quality will not be at the level it has been in the past. To exacerbate the problem, unlike the old days of chrome and rubber bumpers, nearly all new cars are made with large painted front bumpers that reach even lower to the ground. This will be a huge problem in the next few years, I dont think many people realise the amount of cars they will see on the road with completely sandblasted front ends. I see this all the time at our shop, even on cars that come to us with less than a hundred miles look like theyve been on the road for a year. Your not alone, look at the page maxima.org members started to complain to nissan about their paint http://www.maximapaint.com/

Hope that clears it up a bit. My company Invisiguard installs 3M automotive paint protection film, if anybody has any other questions feel free to mail me, invisiguard@sbcglobal.net

Re: i hate black

Black cars generally are harder to keep clean and scratch free.. it's just something that one has to live with if they have a black car. You have to start being "one of those guys" who parks in the farthest spot, etc.... Other people can be very careless when it comes to cars.

Wow! 2002? But once you got the shine, it will shine like no others. Black can really shine once you detail it

Oh man! If anyone owns a buffer and knows how to detail, this is the stuff i really recommend!

Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover and Wolfgang Finishing Glaze

That stuff has never ceased to astonish me! It can remove minor scratches, 95% of swirls at least, and makes your black paint a nice chrome black! It is the secret to ALL of my details details!

Just a quick picture of my G after using it
