9 hour detail!
It took me nine hours to fully detail (Interior/Exterior) my coupe today!
I used all Zaino products except for the tire dressing (Meguire's Gold Class Endurance High Gloss). I put on three coats of Z-2 Show Car Polish for Clear Coated Car Finishes with Z-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray between each coat. I also used their leather cleaner and conditioner. Fantastic stuff, really.
In the end, I fell in love with her all over again. It was a major PIA, but worth it.
How long does it take you to detail your baby?

Hey blksnake, yeah that is about how long it took me to detail my car with zaino. Except I did 2 coats of Z5 with z6 in between and then 2 coats of Z2 with Z6 in between Ive got pics in my profile if you would like to see the end result.

Wow, 9hrs is tough on the back.
My coupe is only six months old so I have not had to do a major clean up as of yet. I keep up the cleaning weekly. Each session is about 1 hour for the exterior and about 45 minutes if I go inside the car.
Zaino is my current product of choice. I am considering switching though. Zaino = high maintenance.
PS. I like your sub and stereo upgrade. I looked at the links and like the end result. I was thinking of doing some work to my BOSE unit but I really don't want to mess with the double din upgrade and replacing the HU. Have any suggestions?

Re: 9 hour detail!
It took me 2-3 hours the first I time i did a complete wash not including wax. But that was Eagle One products, not Zaino. And it still came out just as good as Zaino would have in my opinion..

Zaino makes wonderful products (and they smell good too!)
The most time consuming task was washing the car the 1st time and using the claybar. I was sooooo careful not to leave anything on the car when I clayed the car. You can really jackup your ride if you're not careful. Next time consuming was the rims & tires.
I figure that I'll need to complete the 9 hour detail once every 6 months.
schiffdog, your ride is beautiful! Keep it up!
NYCXLR8, I’ll PM you about my audio install.
G35Rush, I’m not a hardcore Zaino user. In fact I think it’s very inconvenient not being able to pick up a bottle at the local car part store. But the results speak for themselves.

I think the main reason for many members here spending so much time on detailing their beautiful Gs is bc of the multi-step / chemicals process for zaino. Here's what I do and approximately the time it takes to do each step.
-remove carpet for steam cleaning - by doing the carpet 1st, it will allow time for it to dry while you attack the other areas of hte car - 15 min
-prep wash & clay traetment (I like doing this at the same time as long as the car's not too dirty) - 30 min
-wipe car down - 5 min
-buff vehicle w/ hs buffer - 30 min
-apply paint sealant w/ orbital polisher (leave sealant on vehicle for 30 min while working on interior) - 15 min
-apply trim & tire dressing (this way, any overspray from the chemicals will be removed when wiping up the sealant) - 15 min
-vacuum interior - 15 min
-steam clean crevices - 15 min
-leather shampoo / conditioner - 15 min
-plastic trimming cleaning - 15 min
-wipe up sealant on paint - 15 min
And I'm done! It could possibly take me longer if I have deep scratches on my car, key marks, etc. The time it takes to detail a car really lies in the experience.......the mor eyou do it, the faster you get. I'm sure some of the og zaino users here can attest to that.

Re: 9 hour detail!
I couldn't trust myself with an orbital. I did everything by hand that is what took so long.
What I really like about Zaino's stuff is that it leaves no residue in the cracks to clean up afterwards. Removing it requires just a little more effort than applying.
Afterwards I spent a couple hours in the Jacuzzi with the heat and jets set to HIGH.
wil,
My hats off to you and your back!

Re: 9 hour detail!
Sorry, I'm located in the Bay Area, CA. Unfortunately, I don't know of any good dealers in the clearlake area..........have fun tonight though.
blksnake: you should definitely learn to use an orbital polisher. It will cut down on the amt of time you'll spend on detailing and the amount of chemicals used.

Re: 9 hour detail!
I have never spent 9 hours detailing any of my cars...
If it was going to take that long I would have it done professionally, it would be much cheaper!!
Then again I refuse to own another black car
