Clear Bra Questions
Clear Bra Questions
I picked up my Coupe 2 weeks ago and am making an appointment to bring in the car to get a clear bra installed. I have some questions that if anyone can help answer would be greatly appreciated:
1. I live in Putnam County in NY. Does anyone know any good installers in westchester or putnam? The person I'm dealing with right now is in Long Island which is a little inconvenient for me.
2. Someone in a previous post said that the 3M film provides UV protection, which means that over time there could be uneven discoloration across the car as the bra is not installed on the whole car. Can anyone shed some light on this? Should that be a real concern? If so, what other products are out there that do not provide the protection and what are the downsides to them?
3. Has anyone attempted to do the whole hood? The guy I'm dealing with now does not recommend it saying that a clean install would be hard to make look perfect. I was trying to avoid the "line" as well as protect the whole hood. Are people not getting chip on the upper half of the hood?
4. Lastly, what parts should I get protected? Right now, I am doing half the hood, side fenders, and front bumper.
Sorry for all the questions.
Any help would be great.

2) From what 3M says on their site the film in UV stable/transparent. The paint underneath doesn't know there is anything above it. The UV inhibitors are to protect the film from yellowing and have no 'sunscreen' effect to the paint.
