Just Dropped Some $ on Blackfire

Finally broke down and ordered the Blackfire complete kit and some accessories from properautocare.com.
When all was said and done, I dropped a couple of bills.
I will let you guys know how everything turns out. I know Zaino is the talk of the board, but I went with something different. Plus, no snail mail or check to write...

Re: Just Dropped Some $ on Blackfire

I ordered the New Car kit and Wheel care kit from Blackfire, and just finished my first application. I decided to try it out on my wifes new Miata, before I do my G (just in case!). I am very impressed with the results. The Miata is a dark metallic blue, and has some dealer induced swirl marks that have been driving me nuts. The kit came with the shampoo wash, an intermediate polish and the final protectant. The car looked really good after the wash and polish stages, but the car looked WET after the final stage. When I pulled it out into the sun to check it out, the clear cote metallic looked a mile deep. Unfortunately, the swirl marks were diminished, but still noticable. Oh well, I guess I'll have to follow some of the other suggestions on the board to get rid of those.

I will make one suggestion when you are applying the final protectant, use it VERY sparingly. When they say a little goes a long way, they mean it. If you use too much, it's a real bear to rub off the haze. The instructions said use a nickle size blob for half the hood, so I used two applications for the whole hood. That was way too much. It took me about an hour to completely rub off the haze. I did the rest of the car with what was already on the applicator.

Tomorrow I'll do the G!

BTW, the wheel cleaner works awesome.

Yeah I did my Blackfire about three weeks ago on my G and I was also very pleased. I think next time I will try using a random orbital with the polish step to see if removes more of the swirls.

The shampoo is great, and the gloss spray really makes that wet look come out!

Re: Just Dropped Some $ on Blackfire

I have 1 coat of polish on my coupe and 3 coats of the paint protection but I want to get up to at least 5 coats of the paint protection on her before I will be happy. And the one poster is right, a little goes a long long way.
