I was looking into getting my windows tinted and one place was going to paint the matrix on the rear. Has anyone else heard of this being done. My buddy had his 04 Acura TL tinted there and it came out good but I was wondering if others have heard of other methods. I dont like the idea of having a part of window painted.

Also, if anyone knows of any good places in the Bay Area I would appreciate that to. I live in San Mateo so not somewhere too far.. Thanks again..

Do yourself a favor, talk to WIL (one L)on this site! Everyone has raved about his work and he is located in SF. If it were my G, I would drive for hours to let him tint my G, and this is based only on pics and memebers feedback. Unfortunately I am on the east coast! He says he cover the Dot Matrix and has no problem with the tint adhering to the glass! I would check him out before having "paint"? That's weird! I have heard of people recommending vinyl, but never paint. Will says, if it's done right, it will adhere!

like everyone above, i highly recommend wil to do your work. i personally have never heard of people painting those dots so i can't tell you whether it's normal or even necessary. i've had a pretty bad experience with my previous tints on my baby and had to bring it to wil to redo three of my windows. the difference is night and day between wil's work and the other shop i went to. he's very professional and pays attention to the most intricate details. i'm referring my whole family to him! that's how good he is.
