Re: Any tips for cleaning exhaust tips?
What I do is spray it down with Stoner's Tarminator, then wipe off all of the road tar and junk with a diaper. Then I polish the tips with Mother's Mag & Aluminum polish. Ahhh nice clean and shiny.

Re: Any tips for cleaning exhaust tips?
I ended up using some #00 steel wool to get the crud around the lip off. It actually worked great, no scratches and the exhaust residue comes off easily. I followed it up with some metal polish and I'm pretty happy with me newly clean tips. I know... you're wincing at the idea of applying steel wool to anything on your car. It worked well for me. To each his own though.

Someone on here led me to Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish. It's a little jar and is magical stuff. I just cleaned my tips last Friday night and took it to our local meet. 2 people asked what I used to get them so clean, so it does make a difference.
