Wheel polish/wax experience?
Wheel polish/wax experience?
Has anyone tried applying Metal Polish/Wax stuff to the factory 18" wheels in an effort to prevent dust from sticking?
Some of the Wheel Polish/Waxes say they leave behind a silicone layer to protect the wheel. Perhaps this would help prevent brake dust buildup? I haven't tried it myself because I'm not sure if it's 100% safe to use. The labels on the back of the bottles sound ominous, talking about how it's not recommended for wheels with clear coats, and the factory wheels seem to have a clear coat

Re: Wheel polish/wax experience?
I use Klasse AIO on them. It's good for just about everything, won't harm clear coat and minimizes brake dust buildup.

Re: Wheel polish/wax experience?
Whatever you use make sure it's a synthetic. Pure carnuba has a melting point of about 120. Any traditional wax that's carnuba based (which is nowhere even near pure) will last about 2 days due to the heat buildup in/on the wheel. Klasse AIO/SG is a good suggestion, and Zaino would probably last even longer. I use the Klasse.
