Will i need to completely repaint this to make it look good?

I drive about 75 miles round trip everyday between work at home.. missouri roads are pretty terrible and there seems to always be stupid trucks dropping all sorts of crap onto the road..

That being said.. my hood/bumper are pretty torn up.. its not obvious from some distance but up close, its terrible looking....

what would be the best/most cost effective way to fix this up?

i also have all sorts of tiny chips in my windshield but i dont think there's a single thing i can do about that other than replace whole thing..

thanks for your time and advice!

If they are stone chips, you'll need to re-paint it to make it looks perfect. If you want to make it better, you can polish it but you wont get rid of the chips.

Paint on the bumper looks toast.. I say repaint it then clear bra it. But you should wait for the paint to properly cure.

Hood can probably be clayed, polished, sealer, then waxed. maybe even apply a clear bra on the font edge of the hood for the future.

thanks for the responses!

to Whosrich, i dont know really dont know what my car is apparently getting showered with on my way to work.. i just know the damage it causes..

how much should a bumper repaint typically cost? i got some body work done at a hendrick's automotive place a while ago when my back bumper got dinged by someone.. their prices seemed pretty high but they warranty their work and everything..

and.. if i wanted to get my hood and bumper repainted just so everything is even... what should i expect to shell out?

lastly!
based on the kind of damage i have, would a clearbra help a lot? or would my paint still be pretty battered under the clearbra after some time driving on the same crappy highways?

thanks again!

A paint job for a bumper is usually around 350. If you're worried about mismatching, shops can blend it into your fenders/hood for you for a little extra.

As far as clear bra's go, it'll protect your bumper/hood from rock chips. (Not collisions lol). So it would be perfect for your situation.

If you do clear bra after a paint job, you have to wait 30-90 days to let the paint cure and harden.

LOL, if someone was as kind as to bump my front bumper.. maybe the whole thing would get repainted through insurance i suppose i wont count on a clearbra to protect me form collision then :P

realistically though.... im not sure how im supposed to wait 1-3 months before getting a clearbra.. im pretty sure that my bumper will be pretty torn up again in that time period

thanks again for your replies whosrich!

Polish and a Glaze/Wax can help the hood chips look a lot better, The front bumper is toast.

Ha, funny my front bumper looks exactly the same (hidden better on lighter silver). It is a Missouri car as well. No more though, it has now been converted to an AZ car. I was thinking of a light wet sanding to smooth the real fine roughness out, but chips there is nothing you can do without a repaint. If the sanding doesn't help, repaint here I come.

you can try to not drive your car for a few days then blue tape or even that stronger wrap that some people have recently mention, until you can get the clear bra
