Can't Believe It Time for the Clear Bra
Can't Believe It Time for the Clear Bra
1700 miles and I have a few chips in the bumper and front fender. Anyone know a good place to buy and install the clear bra in Northern NJ?

Re: Can't Believe It Time for the Clear Bra
The time for a clear bra is literally before you take it on the road! I have one one mine, with some custom pieces added, and I am really happy with it. I live in SoCal, so I can't help you with a referral.
If anyone needs one here, let me know.

Say, BoneDaddy, am getting a coupe soon (I hope! it's on order). The Clear Bra you speak of, believe it or not, there's two websites: one's clearbra.com and the other is on G35's detail section called clearbra.net. Sounds like .net has the thicker 12 mil film and covers the whole hood. Is this the one you got? And if it is, where'd you get it done; I'm staying in SoCal nearer San Diego but will travel to get the job done right.
Give me a shout and tell me how yours is holding up re rocks and gravel and stuff off the freeways. Thanks man.

Sorry it took so long to get back...
The place is in Torrance, and they are the best installers in Southern California.
Call Edre or Daniel at Envisage Design Labs at 866-335-3456. They can do the entire hood, or anthing else you want, and they will give you a 10% discount if you mention the forum (and tell them I referred you). They guarantee their work and emphasize service. You can also visit flying-finish.com.

The clear bra is a clear film vinyl type material that is at minimum, applied to the hood of your car to protect it from rock chips, etc. It can also be applied to cover most areas of the front of your car including the bumper area, the front of the fenders, the front of the mirrors, etc.
The two major manufactures of the material are 3M and Avery, 3M being the most widely available. The advantage of the Avery product is that it won't gradually yellow in several years, but the yellowing is usually noticeable only on silver and white cars. Do a search, this subject has been discussed many times here and should provide you with a lot of info and pictures.
