Yet another "remove scratches" question
Yet another "remove scratches" question
Hi all,
Well, it took a year - but my G ('03 DP Sedan) finally got keyed. A few punk **** kids keyed about 9 cars at work. I got it bad on the left rear quarter panel - a single scratch down to the primer. On the right side, I have a light scratch (looks like paint is still visible) but it covers both doors of the passenger side Sedan and part of rear tail light. Same on the hood but real light. The last two I think I can go to a detailer and they can buff it out? Would Zaino Z5 work here? Or better taking it to the pros?
The scratch down to the primer though has me a bit concerned. I saw posts for Plasti-kote and was wondering if anyone had any other opinions on that. Not sure if I can minimize it, or if I gotta paint the whole panel.
If anyone has any reccommendations (Autobody or detailers) where to take it, (Orange County, CA) I'd appreciate it. Right now, I plan on calling dealer tomorrow for their reccommendation.
The last part to this story, is that allegedly they caught one of the kids who admitted to keying one car. But the cops say that they can't do anything about it....as we have no evidence and something about self-incrimination?
If it helps, I'll borrow a digi camera and attach the photos.
It's unfriggin' believable, but what can you do?....Hey and thanks all for your help! Great site/forums....

Re: Yet another "remove scratches" question
If it is in fact down to the primer, it will need to be repainted. Just file a comprehensive claim w/ your insurance carrier and have it done at a shop that will warranty their work.
