Got a question on over spray.

Got a Q for hard core detailers.

I had my car recently repainted in some areas and got some clear cote over spray in others. How would you guys go about cleaning it up.

I was thinking clay bar, you think it's gonna remove it or do I need to get busy and get it wet sanded. It's quite large areas, entire door and quarter panel. It feels sand paper-ish to the touch (the over spray).

So how do you guys suggest I go about it?

If clay bar.......what kind? Medium or fine, or medium and fine?

I was actually just dealing with the exact same problem earlier tonight. Had the front end repainted and there was all kinds of overspray as far back as the rear spoiler. Used a clay bar and it all cleaned up pretty easily. Not even a trace of overspray left behind!

I'm pretty sure a clay bar is supposed to help with over spray. As for the grit, I'd say medium depending on the amount of over spray.

that's good to know.

I'll give clay bar a shot.

I'm gonna try with a medium first and go over with fine after that. We'll see if that works.
