Black car + cheap buffer x noob to buffing = Swirl mark hell
Black car + cheap buffer x noob to buffing = Swirl mark hell
So I tried buffing my G35S and the results were not the greatest...out in the sun at least. I washed it, pulled it into the garage and buffed it, the thing looked like a beauty until i pulled it back out. Is there anything I can do to get the swirl marks out of the majority of the vehicle?? I cant stand looking at it the way it sits! It drives me nuts!!!
You need a slightly (and hint the word slightly) more powerful buffer with a different pad/polish to make the car look good again.
Porter Cable PCXP and an orange and black lakecountry foam pads along with Meguires M105 and M205.
What kinda products did you use to do this? Was it a cheap walmart buffer?

Nothing you can do about until you get the proper equipment, knowledge, and proper techniques along with practice to correct the mistake you did. Take a look at this guide to get some information.

I used a buffer with adjustable speeds.. Not sure what brand. I used it on the lowest and the first speed setting. I used a Meguiars Machine Glaze first, then a Meguiars Mirror Glaze.

This is so true. Read up (and read again), and you'll be much better prepared the next time around.
You say you used a buffer with adjustable speeds? Did you use a wool bonnet by any chance? Even if you used cotton bonnets, you probably just gave yourself buffer haze or swirls. If you don't want to buy a machine (dual action, like Porter Cable, Meguiar's, or Griots) , you can go by hand - Ultimate Compound and Swirl-X are based on the Megs 105/205 combo and work really well with less dust. It might feel like a lot of work ahead of you, but you can get it back if you want to. Wash it, clay bar next. Do a test spot with SwirlX and a foam applicator pad, and then wax that spot with a good wax like Ultimate Wax or NXT Gen 2.0 (or whatever brand you like best - I just like Megs). Make sureto use clean microfiber towels for all wipe-offs - this is important because very often people swirl their cars right back up just wiping off products with rags or towels. If this worked, do the rest of the car. If SwirlX is not aggressive enough, you'll need to go up to Ultimate Compound. Keep in mind, even if UC does work though, you still may need to follow up UC with SwirlX before waxing because sometimes these types of compounds, on some cars, can leave a cloudy look, or haze. Check out Autogeek.net and/or Meguiresonline.com - those guys have all kinds of info with videos to show you the way - search for "5 step system"..
