permanent headlight resoration

hey guys, kind of a newb here...

anyways i just picked up an IP 2004 g35 coupe with 55*** miles!

after speaking with a few different people, it seems that the problem with a headlight restoration kit is that your basically taking off the stock UV layer on the light, therefore the hazing that you THOUGHT you removed, comes back about a month later....so does anyone have any experience with a restoration kit that lasts long or better yet permanently?

either that or im thinking i should add a smoke tint overlay on the headlight after i use the restore kit and hope the tint overlay will act as some sort of sealant to prevent against future hazing...

any help or opinions would be great guys, thanks!

I don't recommend using clearcoat; I've heard it will fail, too. Tint may work, but even that overlay will oxidize in time.

I just wind up polishing monthly. Lame, but works. I am debating on buying 06-07 headlights, they're 505 new from Sewell.

I don't use a 'kit'. I use menzerna polish on a polishing pad. See detailing domains page, or any site sponsors of detailing supplies.
