Chip Questions *New Owner*

I am a proud new owner of 04 G35x premium, aero kit. I have had the car for a week and already my front spoiler is chipping. It appears though that the chips are red. Is this just the color of bumper under the paint or this something else?

Thanks

most likely it is the primer coat or material used, unless u scrapped on red paint going down an incline. chips r gonna happen, especially if its a daily driver. I wish i could keep mine pristeen and never drive it, but that smile on you face after you wax it in the garage only last so long, u have to drive it to really enjoy it.

Actually the chips are in different areas, so I don't think I scraped it. I would not really care about the chips that much if they were not red underneath which shows up so well. Being that the car is only a week old, I am going to try and take it to the dealer and see what they say.

Primer color is actually silverish. Do you actually see a puncture in the paint or do you just see red spots on the surface. It could possibly be paint overspray.

I have seen cases where one layer of paint was added to an already painted bumper. However, your car is new, so it doesn't really make much sense.

Its a indent. I took it to the dealer today to have them look at it. They told me they had never seen that. I just don't understand why the hell would you use a red base primer on a diamond graphite car. I hope they can fix it as it would really look like crap if it continued to chip and show red base primer.

Whether it's paint or primer under that surface coat, it should not be red. The dealer should warranty this because primer is supposed to be a neutral color.
