which wax/coating to show off pearl?

tomorrow (if the weathers nice) i'm going to wash and clay my car. it's an 05 IP sedan. i'm wanting to wax or coat it so that it shines really nice but, also really shows off the pearl in the paint. i wanna try something store bought before i order a better, more professional, product. hoping autozone has a meguiars professional line that'll work well for now.

i was thinking of getting an orbital but, then read some info on the dealers sites about DA's. was thinking of maybe finding one locally and giving it a go but, if not i'll be doing it by hand. i know to get the best results i'll need some type of electric polisher but, for now i'll probably be doing it by hand. i'd really like to get a nice protective, deep shine. i'd love to get some input on this from you all.

For store bought wax, I've had the best results with Meguiars Cleaner Wax. Its easy to apply and doesnt leave a dusty finish when you remove. I like it better than the NXT waxes. I'd recommend doing it by hand with a soft applicator. With this cleaner wax, I believe you can apply to the whole car at once then remove.

For just a little more than Going to the store to purchase a Meguiars cleaner wax, you can order something like Klasse AIO. It's a great cleaner/polish/protectant in one and it will last 2-3 months where the wax will only last 2-6 weeks.

Another great all in one product is Sonax Nano Tech Paint Cleaner. It leaves behind a wax after a light cleaning/polishing so it won't last as long as Klasse AIO.

try meguiars #16. you wont regret it. BUT, this product is discontinued. so it might be quiet hard to find. i believe ebay has it, but most of the sellers are from outside US.

95% of how a cars paint looks has to do with how the paint was prepped. You can put a $1000 wax on your car but if your paint isn't glass smooth and swirl free you'll be refracting light instead of reflection thus never giving you the optimum look you're looking for. With your color you're never going to get a great looking shine as that's just the nature of the color you have. Assuming you get the car polished FIRST, it' use black fire wet diamond for a sealant and if you juts want to use a wax P21s or black fire midnight sun.

I used Collinite 476 this year, it's quite a durable wax but kinda hard to apply.

Going to switch to 845 once it warms up again in a few months (or if I find a heated garage )

Chemical Guys 50/50 concourse paste wax from Detailed Image is without a doubt your best choice. I always wash it at home and rinse the dust off every week, that helps a ton. I'm on my fourth container now. Everyone comments how the paint truly sparkles when I'm done.

today was cool out but, the wind wasn't blowing so i decided to wash and clay the car. it started getting dark and alot colder so i moved the car into the garage to finish up the rear end. i wanted to wash the car again after claying but, it was already dark and way too cold so i sprayed the car down and whiped it dry. i then use meguiars clean wax on the car. i can't tell how it's going to look yet. hopefully tomorrow will be sunny and it'll shine really well on my way to work. next week i may clay the areas i didn't get to and may try a polish to see if it shines better than the wax. hopefully i can finally get some pics taken and post them for everyone.

I 've been using Zaino for years. You do have to take the time but I find it lasts the longest.

any good carnuba looks good on pearl. As the Duragloss line is the same as Zaino plus less expensive. Use #111 from duragloss
