Caring for OEM 18's

Anyone have any advice on how to properly maintain OEM 18's? I noticed mine are kind of dull and was looking for ways to make them look new again.

Is is possible to touch-up scratches? Although I wasn't able to find a color code for the 18's.

Just sand them down and get them repainted or powdercoated..

Most of the OE 18" wheels I've seen lose their clearcoat and start to look fugly. If this is a wheel you like and intend on keeping have them powder coated the factory color or close. Then they'll be almost bulletproof and look good forever....Gary

Of course that would be the easy way. I thought about it but was turned off because every place wants the tires off. I don't have the resources to do it.

I didn't know if wax or anything would benefit them.

Does touch-up paint exists for this wheels?

You can have a wheel repair specialist come out to your place and repair it on site. I would recommend having it powder coated though, as the finish will be much more durable. Removing the tires is somewhat of a nuisance, but if you want to do it you should do it the right way and get a finish that will last.

For right now I am just looking for ways to make them look better.

You mean to attempt it yourself? Because I wouldn't try to powder coat a set of wheels yourself.

If you're referring to getting around town on a different set of wheels while your current ones are at the powder coater, that's a different story haha.

Yeah I meant the second part you said. I wouldn't have transportation, id have to haul the wheels to get powder coated, etc etc. I wish there was a shop that would do it all there. It would be really great.

I notice your a wheel vendor. Do you sell wheels that match the exact OEM size?

We do not. We offer a few different options that will be a direct bolt on fitment, whether it be a little more conservative or a bit more aggressive, but nothing exactly like OEM sizes.

Closest we have to OEM spec would be 19x8.5 +35/19x9.5 +22.

lol. I don't understand what any of those numbers mean. I assume 19 means 19" wheels.

Yes, 19" in diameter, 8.5" or 9.5" in width, with an offset of +22mm. Offset is a bit more complicated to explain but just know that the wheels are not going to fit identical to your OEM wheels haha.

Anyways back to caring for the 18's. lol

There has to be some kind of wax or polish maybe? I have never had wheels in my life. Only hubcaps. haha.

Does touch-up paint exists for these wheels? I can't find anything about it.

you can try cleaning them up first, then try a metal polish. That will give it a deeper clean and add some shine. You can clay the wheels after wash, the apply polish.
