California Water Blade = Terrifying!!

Anyone else get freaked out when you used your Cali Water Blade for the first time? I ran it down the hood of my brand spanking new G35, and the noise it made was comparible to the sound you get when you rub on a helium balloon. I thought for sure I was damaging the paint, but sure enough that little sucker does the job.

Does that shreaking sound go away after a nice coat of Zaino?

I just bought mine and washed my 2 month old G with it. The shreiking was unbearable until I saw the shiny paint under all that water. It worked good but it attracts to much attention from the people jogging in my neighborhood.

Perhaps you are pressing down too hard? I get a squeegee type sound too when I use mine, but it doesn't seem to be as loud or annoying as you are describing.

The surface you are using the water blade on has to be wet to avoid that shreaking noise. Wiping the blade with a damp cloth helps clean the blade after every pass but isn't necessary. What I do right before drying the car using the water blade is rinse the car once over so it's covered in water. This helps lube the water blade and makes quick work without much shreaking.

Wet car = no squealing...

Agree with above. When done washing I give a good final rinse and then blade away. No noise.. Whoosh-whoosh baby..

I use it from time to time. But one time I used it on my other car and did a half a$$ washing it, it left scratches on my car due to dirt. Just make sure you wash and rinse your car well.

I have been using the Water Blade for about 6 years now, never had a problem with it, never one scratch! If your car is cleaned properly, it will do absolutely no harm!
