Hard Water

Our water comes from a city well. It's not real hard, but it does leave stains on the shower over a few months. A little build up on the shower head.

Do you think this will hurt my paint? I washed it for the first time and think I can see spots after the wash. Would a hard water softner help?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Hard Water

Did you hand-dry the car or let it air-dry? The first step would be to use a cotton towel or chamois and dry the car when you're done washing.

I don't think it will hurt your paint, but I only wash my car at night for this reason so the water doesn't bake in and leave spots.

Re: Hard Water

Water softner would be a great idea but drying off the car would be much cheaper. Try driving it or cotton towels or a chamois. I hate to chamois but it works wonders-I'm lazy
