question about removing swirl marks

I bought my G35 Coupe in Feb 05 and it already is covered in swirl marks , do you guys think if I take it to a professional detailer, that they can remove these or at least cover them up for a while? I would use the Scratch X by McGuire, but swirl marks appear to be covering the whole car. This is my first black car and I can't believe how big of a dust magnet this color is. Thanks ahead of time for your input!

In regards to swirl marks, PREVENTION is key. Becareful what you use to wash and dry your car. Use only genuine sheepskin wash mitts or natural sea sponges. Use 2 mitts, one for the top of the car and another for strictly the lower portion. Don't forget a third just for wheels! Use only high quality MF towels to dry and polish/wax.

To your question, you are better off having them removed. Using filler products will driv you crazy after about a month when they return! STart the season off right. If you don't have a random orbiter such as the porter cable or cyclo, go to a top quality detailer that WILL NOT use a grinder with a wool pad to buff the car! If they do, your car will look good on delivery and a month later...HELLOOOOO swirls!! Our cars are too new to really require the heavy cutting that a polisher with a wool pad will do! Random orbiter is your best bet. If you have black and want to keep it clean, I suggest buying one! It is a good investment!

swirl marks

when i bought my car the dealer had it detailed for me and holy crap were there swirl marks....i was pissed, needless to say...

so i used meguires NXT wax and the pain look like glass, i could not believe the results...it used nanotechnology to fill in the swirls and its has lasted a good three washes so far...i prefer to do these things myself to i will be getting a porter sometime this summer...

i use a reuglar washmit, but rinse it several times throughout the wash, start from the hood and top then work your way down...sheet the water on the car to minimize drying (makes a huge difference) then take the MF drying cloth (i have a bug blue one i got from walamrt and it works great). when drying the car just simply use the towel as if your were making your bed sheets (so place it flat on the car and lightly drag it across the surface. let the towel's weight be the pressure, a MF towel will pick up all the water.

i also use a MF pol;ishing cloth for the wax....i use another MF cloth for removing pollen and dust particles (using the same technique as the drying towel) so i dont scratch the finish

the other option is use MR Clean, i have not used it, but i heard it works pretty good.

never let the dealer wash the car or never take it to an automatic car wash

hope this helps

there are also some great threads if you search

Thanks for the reply guys, I was wondering if any porter would do. Also, what kind of material do you put on the porter to buff the car. I actually bought the NXT wax and I tried it on half my hood and for some reason, the wax made the hood look kind of uneven in color (some areas darker then others). I am not sure if that is where a buffer somes in. If i do take it to a professional detailer, what material should they be using on the buffer on my car. Thanks to all of you guys again. Weather is going to be really nice here this weekend and I am going to reserve 6 hours of my weekend to make sure this gets done right and those horrible swirl marks are off of my car.

the uneven tone goes away when you use a new cloth and wipe some more...i noticed the same thing...make sure you are in a shaded area as well when you are applying the wax and that the paint is not hot
