hi guys,
lexoled my interior today, i got no compains except for what looks like grease stains, which im sure they aren't, maybe in some places i didnt rub the lexol conditioner in well enough?

anyone ever have these, there are only 1 or 2 spots so nothing major.. if there is no solution to those then i will just leave them until i lexol again, in like 6-8weeks

Those marks will go away after a week or two, it's nothing to worry about.

 

why would they go away? what are they? something i can do to avoid those next time?

 

from my experience they dont go away...dont understand it myself either. it only really shows up on the armrest though and on a day where the sun has been hitting it.

 

ive seen some on the back of the head rest and on the back of the driver's and passenger's seat

 

Hmm.... mine usually went away after a few weeks in the sun. If you are worried about it, I'm sure some isopropanol would clean it up easily.

 

Just thinking about this for a minute, did you use the Lexol or other cleaner before applying the conditioner? Maybe there was some buildup of something, even if not visible, on the leather in certain areas that prevented the conditioner from being absorbed fully in those areas. Maybe if you use a cleaner first, then conditioner, the problem could be fixed or at least prevented in the future. Just a thought.

 

no it'll go away.. if it doesnt then you didnt read instructions.. use a damp towel to remove the cleaner and dry towel for conditioner.. also you can use a sponge to work it it into the leather

 

exactly what i did, followed the directions on their site

and yes i did use lexol cleaner and lexol conditioner

 

Did you use the cleaner too?

You have to clean then condition and let it stay there for 3 hours... It is also important to do this process in the shade on a day where your seats have not had any sun contact.

I use Lexol, Zaino, and Connolly and none leave any stains.

Lexol leaves the best looks (shiny) but I hate the smell, Zaino does a great job in shine (just a little less shiny than Lexol) but the smell is great! To have seats shine a lot with Lexol, I apply the conditioner twice. Conolly, despite it being Bentley leather cleaner, I HATE IT! Its the most expensive of them all, and it smells darn ugly and is HARD to apply and its like cream. When applying conolly on your seats, the little perforated holes get filled up of Conolly conditioner, very dissapointed with their conditioner, but the Cleaner is top knotch!

Conolly Cleaner + Lexol Conditioner is the best combination for shine
Conolly Cleaner + Zaino Leather in a Bottle is the best for smell (looks only a little less shiny than Lexol).

One other thing about Lexol vs Zaino is that Lexol dries better on the leather. When I use Zaino, the steering wheel is slippery. With Lexol, I have perfect grip.

 

Zaino Z10 is the best I have ever used.....and it has the best long lasting leather smell ever. Just my .02

 

Have you tried Lexol? If you have, you would know it leaves a better LOOK and FEEL, but yeah the smell of it sux.

 

the seats probably did come in contact with sunshine at some point during that day.. and also, i didnt leave it to dry for like 3 hours, only 2 or so hours and then i wiped it down like the directions said (with a dry terry cloth)

 

2 hours is fine enough... though Im wondering about the sun contact...

Did you use the cleaner too or did you went directly with the conditioner?

I never wipe down the seats after the 2 hours... I find that it isnt necessary as the seats arent oily enough as to stain clothing or stay in your clothing.

Next time you lexol, try not wiping down... but those stains, thats hard to determin how it happened. Try taking pictures maybe someone may further assist you.

 

the stains arent that evident so its not abig problem, yes i did use the cleaner before

and i wiped it down because those were the instructions on their site.. also i wiped it down because i had to leave so i made sure there was no excess conditioner left
