bug & tar block..

Awhile ago I picked up a bug & tar sponge at Pep Boys, I want to try it out today because i noticed i got some bugs on the front of my car after a few long trips this weekend, now the thing is, the bug & tar sponge has a mesh net around it, and i'm not sure how good that is for the paint.. seems like it could scratch it..

if it is a risk, if i return it, where can i get a good one without the net?

thanks

Your right on, that bug and tar block isn't safe to use on paint. I use a bug and tar block thats phenomenal. It feels really firm when it's dry but when you put in soapy water (same stuff I wash with) its much softer and does an amazing job at removing bugs, tar, contamination, etc. I detail professionally so I always need something thats completely paint safe and can get the job done.
