Question Long clear plastic stickies on bottom of front and rear fenders

Just took my black MY05 G35 home a couple weeks ago. Terrific car, I am so happy!!

I notice there are some long, clear plastic strip stickers (maybe a foot long and two inches wide), at the very bottom of the front and rear fender panels. They look like they come off easily. I assume this was from a poor dealer prep since I can't see any obvious use for them. Should I take them off the next time I go for a car wash, or do they in fact serve some mysterious purpose?

Thanks!

Many of us have had the same strips. I only had the ones under the front bumper. Anway, I left mine on until they started losing their adhesion. I figured they were put on to protect those areas and left them on until they looked bad.

Wow.. Really? Will these fit a Sedan? I want them. Will pay top-dollar.

They're shipping protection.
Some dealers just miss them during prep
