Road Oil Hell

Six months of meticulous pampering of my car (05 G35x) and it all came crashing down on my when I unexpectedly hit a stretch of road that had just been oil prepped for asphalt resurfacing.

Came home and spent several hours using bug and tar remover over my entire car. Luckily I had just waxed a week ago (NXT).

Nevertheless, my windshield still has oil streaks on it. Any suggestions on what I can use? I'm not sure that the bug and tar remover or WD40 is the way to go with that.

I'm gonna give her another once over this weekend and rewax. I may even use Meguiar's Body Scrub beforehand.

What a sucky day!!

George

Alcohol on windshield should clean it up nicely if it's that bad. Or maybe a good automotive windshield cleaner.

Picture this.

Your driving along the interstate in semi-heavy traffic, 40-50 mph but no room to switch lanes.

In front of you appears a tractor-trailer tanker truck carrying WASTE automotive oil

It is LEAKING!!!!!!!

I only followed this guy to the next exit, 3.8 miles, then I got the hell off.

Didn't have my wash gear with me, since I was on a trip, took 35 min and $20 at a wand wash to get the car reasonably clean.

Then I called the "how am I driving" number on the back of the truck and cussed them out for 5 minutes
