Question Touching up scuff on side mirror casing

Hi everybody.

I just noticed that I've got what appears to be a quarter sized scuff on the top of the plastic casing of my driver's side mirror. It has scuffed off the top layer of the black plastic to the white below it.

Can anybody suggest something to use to cover that up? It's a minor thing, but it is annoying as hell. I imagine it would be a little easier to cover up than if it was on the body paint, but I'm not sure.

Thanks.

If the plastic is down that far you might need to have it replaced. Someone else might have an idea, but aside from re-painting it yourself (which will probably look terrible), I can't think of anything.

It would actually be easier to touchup on the paint, since you could touchup, wetsand, then polish.

Really, the paint would be easier? I was afraid it would probably require replacing. The good thing is is that it's on the inside, closer to the car so it isn't noticeable unless you're looking for it.

Thanks for the reply picus.

if you are talking about the black plastic piece that holds the mirror, I would try a black sharpie or magic marker to cover the white. you may have to wipe with a rag and use a few coats to get it to blend into the rest of the black plastic.
