zaino question

i was wondering how long the mixed vial of zfx will last, and if it goes bad over time??? Damn zaino is hard work, my whole body aches. Also, the instructions say that regualr zaino should dry 24hr in cold weather, but it does not specify for zfx in cold weather.

Not sure how long the mixture lasts......but just mix up enough to do the job so there's no waste anyway.

Yeah Zainoing is hard work ....you might want to consider an orbital buffer -- I have the Porter Cable 7224 and it makes the job a pleasure.

I wouldn't expect the zaino to dry properly in cold weather. If it's cold out, use the ZFX -- it cuts dry time to almost nothing, and makes the job even easier.

I have heard a lot of people say that they find Zaino hard work, but I must say that I disagree. I really do not find it any more of a difficult job than any other wax/polish. Mind you that I have only used Zaino in the warmer temps though.

OK, I'm not sure exactly what you're asking, but once you mix ZFX in with some Z5 or Z2, it's only good for a few hours. Only mix as much as you're going to use. You can always mix more. The ZFX itself, unmixed, will keep for quite a while. I had some for about 2 years and it was still OK.

^^^Yep +1.

And Zaino is pretty easy once you get your first layer on.

ZFX will often harden well before its expected shelf life. It's a problem Sal is aware of - he will send you another vial if it happens to you. It's happened to me twice now.

I agree with you Canuck. If you try to remove it before it dries though it can be a F*cker to get off.

Once you mix ZFX with Z-*, then you should use it within 12 hours. After that the mixture should be discarded. The shelf life for the Zaino products is based on the "unmixed" condition.

Zaino with ZFX can take an hour or more to dry when it's "cold". The actual drying time depends on how cold it is and how thick you put the Zaino on. Remember, less it better when dealing with Zaino. If you put it on too heavy, it WILL be a bitch to remove.

Considering that you're aching, I'd guess you put it on too thick and combined with the cool temps it never really dried or cured.

How much of the applicator bottle did you use? 1/2 oz, 1 oz, 2 oz?
The G and Z should take around 1/2 oz per application.
