This is "PimpCoupe's" (Davids) car, which is currently being tuned over at NHR. Very cool guys and the car is looking great (and sounds amazing). They wouldn't give me numbers but it's got a blower amongst other mods so I'm sure it'll be a screamer when it's done. I detailed the car at the tuner shop. It was actually still overheating due to an air bubble in the coolant system, but it was time to get cleaned so I cleaned!
Paint was in decent shape, some swirling and some long scratches on the doors and hood from the work at the shop. Clay took off a crazy amount of gunk. Overall a fairly straight-forward detail.
Wash (P21S)
Clay
Entire car with Opt compound on an orange via PC
Meg's 80 on a white via PC
FMJ
PB's wheel sealant.
Megs insane shine on the tires
303 in the wells
OCW in the jambs

As always - great work! I have never been a fan of that color but I must say it does look a whole lot better when clean. I see the FMJ is the only menz product you are using. That happens to be the only one I don't currently use. What do you think of it in terms of durability as compared to something like EX-P or even Zaino?

I actually use PG, IP, and FPII, FTG (and HGAS) as well, but I like the way Opt Compound allows for long working time on finicky Infiniti paint. I use IP/FPII quite a bit, I just tend to shy away from them with Infiniti's because they flash so quickly.
Regarding FMJ, I find it's probably in between EX-P and Zaino for durabilty, maybe 4 months give or take a couple weeks. I use it primarily over those for two reasons. First, it's the easiest to remove (although EX-P is pretty easy), and second it works extremly well with FTG and HGAS. Unlike Zaino it has no problem bonding over a glaze like FTG, and the fact that it pairs so well with HGAS is nice. Now when I do wash & wax maintenance on customer cars I've used FMJ I can just wash then use HGAS while drying - saves time and gives them another 2 months of durabilty and gloss.
