Royal purple
I've been reading a lot of things about Royal Purple. Does anybody know where to get it in the DFW area? I just hit 65K miles and would like to start doing my own oil changes. Would it be okay to switch over to royal purple 5W-30? Thanks.
To better understand oil raed this. It is a bit long, but you will have a lot of knowledge after reading it. I just had a few questions as well and now i learned so much i feel retarded for asking the question.

good luck to ya!
Yeah I've seen it at O'Reilly's. I agree with wayneside on the 10W30 for most of the year in Dallas. I switch to 5W30 for the coldest months of the year when it is important to have a lighter weight to make circulation easier during cold starts.
Personally I use Mobil 1 10W40 although after reading the great write-up by Resolute (re-posted here by Nismo G) I may look into the Mobil 1 0W40 if I can get my hands on some.
When I tracked my car at Motorsport Ranch I did run Royal Purple (can't remember if it was 5W or 10W). If we have this track day coming up in November I will probably go the same route again.
