Take it to the dealer or install myself
Take it to the dealer or install myself
So I consider myself pretty mechanically inclined, did pretty much all the work on my car myself. Now comes something I haven't done before and I find it a bit daunting. My rear wheel bearings need replacing. I have the parts on order, and they should be arriving mid next week. Two rear wheel bearings, two new hubs, and two grease seals. This requires a press to install which I don't have and German doesn't have at GS Motorsports.
Should I find a shop w/ a press to do the install or should I take it to the dealership? Book time according to All Data says it's about 4.6 hours to replace both. I'd assume around $80/hour at the dealership so about $400 in labor.

take the time and install yourself... since you're doing it yourself and you'll need to take it to someone with a press, you may be working on it for a good day. Plan it out ahead of time and make sure you know of a place to take the thing that has a press.
Will if you need anything just give me a call and I can help you as well...never done it before either but if you needed to go somewhere for parts etc...I am available...
