Installed the JWT clutch and flywheel...

Well I installed the JWT clutch and lightweight flywheel in my car this weekend.

I must say I have driven 150 miles so far and really like it. The chatter is not near as bad that I read it would be. Yes its louder than the oem stuff but thats to be expected.

The car feels like it has a little more power but its still too early to tell since its still in the break in period.

Over all the install was not that bad and the car runs a lot better now. I would highly recommend this setup to anyone looking for a clutch and flywheel combo.

Hopefully it will be by the end of the week. I'm at about 300 miles right now.

The install took us about 5 hours at a shop with a lift, air tools and all the proper tools.

I bought the car used and the previous owner obviously didnt know how to drive judging by how many heat spots were in the flywheel and how badly the clutch was burned. I only have 40,000 miles on mine but have heard of oem clutches lasting well over 100,000 miles. Its all in how you drive.

you really only get the chatter as the throw out bearing wears out

I also have the same setup and there is definite chatter ... from what I understand it is because the lightweight flywheel does not have a big spacer/bushing that quiets the chatter but also adds unneeded weight.

Mine really only makes noise between 1500 and 2000rpm under a load. Not really all that bad at idle.

well you also dont have a dual mass flywheel like stock...you will make some noise, but the 'cement grinder' noise comes as the throwout bearing wears out

Congrats on the install! I must say, I have been totally scared by reading about all this 'chatter' that I was originally planning to install the JWT clutch and leave the stock flywheel. I would love to check your setup out to see how loud it is sometime.

Head out to the meet Saturday and you can check out both of ours ... my setup has maybe 15k miles on the clutch/flywheel with several runs down the dragstrip and a couple track sessions...

Yeah, if I have my car by then, I'll definitely do that. The Oak Grove Park meet, right?
