Reset ECU and Car Seems Sluggish :(

Reset the ECU on my 04.5 5AT and car doesn't seem to respond as it previously did. Any thoughts?

After you reset the ECU, your car has to re-learn the way you drive. It's strange that it seems sluggish after resetting though??

What method did you use to reset the ECU?

New to the G. I live in the Joe Pool lake area, but am back in Lubbock finishing my last year of school. I reset it using the battery disconnect method. It just seems less responsive then before.

So I assume you left the battery disconnected for 8+ hours?

How many miles on your G? Have you checked your air filter? Current on your oil change?

When you re-train the ECU, it will "learn" your driving style and adapt. If you drive very low key then the ECU will assume you don't push the motor very hard and adapt accordingly. If you drive very agressively (with the throttle) then the ECU will adapt that way...

there is also a better procedure in resetting it by using the key and gas pedel method...you have to use really good timing but it works.
