"Well I got the name of a detailer from some of you guys on the board here and went to meet him today to look at the car and give me his opinion on just what I needed since the car still looks great.

As were looking over the car he asks what work I had done to the right rear quarter panel and I tell him none and that the car was bought brand new.

To make a long story short we discovered that my right rear quarter HAS in fact has AT LEAST been repainted. He used a mil gauge and it was reading 7.5 - 8.0 on that panel while all other were right around 4.5. He noticed other stuff to like rough edges inside the gas door and trunk lid and door jamb.

I took it right away to the dealership, ask for a service manager and told him whats going on. He pulled up the cars records and no evidence of work has been documented. But did agree that the car has has work done since the service manager pulled out a mil gauge as well and found the same results as well as the rough bits around the edges.

He is trying to contact higher ups at Infiniti to see what they can find out as far as damage happening to the car prior to the dealer getting a hold of it.

What is the next step i should do? I am extremely nervous about this."

OUCH...that sucks dude...I hope they fix everything to your liking.

Wow... DEMAND a new car. If you bought this from them brand new, and it had damage, you deserve another one without damage! And if that doesn't happen, at least you set the bar of expectations pretty high.

Heard back from Infiniti today. The service manager said he heard back from the "higher-ups" at Infiniti and they tracked the car from its arrival in the US. car came into port in LA and was sold directly to Sewell (the dealer I bought it from) meaning no other dealer ever had ownership of it.

There was supposedly no record of anything erev having been done to the car leading them to believe that it was repainted at the factory, before it ever left the factory, obviously.

After hearing this I called some reputable body shops here to tell them what has happened and to have them take a look at it to see if they can tell if any BODY WORK has been done to it or just simply repainted. I was told that it's actually pretty common for cars to get repainted for any number of reasons before they ever leav the factory.

Any more advice? Should I just let it lie or what?

If it looks fine to you, then I wouldn't just leave the issue behind you.
