This is unfortunately a low priority for cops, as i learned when my old car was stolen. you gotta do the legwork and research yourself to get anywhere.

Do I basically have to take pictures of the damage to show to the cop? I was hoping since the town basically has ZERO crime, that this officer would get work done.

Well, I'm sure it differs form city to city, for me, I had VIDEO TAPE of the ****ers driving off with my car from the apartment complex security cameras, the front desk wouldn't give them to me due to privacy concerns, said the cops would have to request them, I called the cops and they never bothered to come ask for them.

Yeah, unfortunately most people (including popo's) don't care until it's their $#T getting jacked and then it's a matter of national security.

I've had my cred card # stolen, I tracked down the stores, even down to who the clerk was that "supposedly" ran the card...called the local cops in CA to just be told to report it in my town...wtf?!? Really wish I could have wasted money on a trip to rip the stores mgrs/owners a new one.

Will, just PM'd you.

Well, I provided my insurance (Allstate) with the license plate of the guy that hit me. They investigated the issue and found a claim was made with them from the Dodge Ram owner who had an accident last year. The sucker has Safeco insurance and Allstate's subrogation unit is filing claim against them. Investigation from Safeco is pending.

That sounds like some potentially good news; keep us posted.

Well, no update from insurance. The other guys insurance STILL needs to get a statement from the driver of the Dodge Ram. I think this guy is just avoiding the issue. Not sure how long insurance will tolerate non-cooperation like that.

Anyways, just picked up my RAV4 and it's good as new...the paint is immaculate with the full respray Jose provided.

I hired an appraiser to inspect for diminished value, and finally got Allstate to agree upon $3600 in diminished value which they will pay me. I just have to fax in proof of ownership and they will cut the check.

nope...cops didn't give a ish. Said without witnesses that can identify the guy, they can't do anything.
