Dallas Guys - Clutch install recommendation
I have a Carbonetic twin disc clutch needing to be installed. Comes with lightweight flywheel and new bearing. Kind of a big job.
Who can you recommend to do this that really is familiar this this set up.
I'vegotten quotes from JoTech, Cobb and Alamo and the price range is drastically different which makes me nervous.
JoTech want 850
Cobb wants 540
Alamo wants 375
Why such a range for the same job? makes me think they don't really know what they're in for.

I just called my friend who did mine. He said after doing mine he never wants to do another one.
Its a very big job, there is no way it could be done without a lift.
I for sure recommend someone who has done this job several times.

Yes..
I have the JWT and it is VERY loud. If you have a daily and only use it for street use there is really no need for the light weight flywheel IMO..
If I could do it all over again I would have got a stock flywheel with the JWT clutch.
My friend Billy is a tech for http://www.importcarcenter.com/ He is the one who did my clutch install and did a great job!
Give them a call, ask for Brett and tell him that Dave sent you. They do great work and have amazing service.

The carbonetic is pretty quite. Only makes noise when the clutch is engaged, not when idling.
I think I'm gonna have Cobb do it. They seem to be comfortable doing it.
I thought about German, he does good work but he's so hard to pin down for a time, etc.

I have a guy at a little shop in Irving that just charged me $350 for my JWT clutch and flywheel install.......
I think the total was under $450 for that, Z-tube & pop charger install, and oil change together. He is always great on pricing!
Its just called Import Auto if you are interested.....
