haha... See, the issue is I don't actually know what Frank's real name is... I am not really interested in making an issue out of it, just want to make sure they DON'T repaint the front...

I was told that if they couldn't do the work in their local bodyshop they could take it to the collision center... should I just ask that all the work be done there? I really want the skirts to be done right with the least amount of trouble.

Jon, if you are saying that the dealership doesn't have a bodyshop that I can count on to do the job correctly, should I just request the work to be done at the collision center right off the bat?

uh, just tell him that you would like the front bumper painted but just dont have the $ for it and you're a little tight now-a-days. He'll be ok with it and understand.

B, thanks for the idea... I guess I can just ask to talk with whoever is going to be working on the car... I would like to see the parts they get in before they put them on the car anyhow....

All body work and paint are done off-site at 6303 Cedar Springs Road. They might have left you with the impression that it was done at the dealership but, i assure you there isn't a paint booth at that location.

Just tell them straight up, you just want your side skirts painted for now. Say you dont have the $ or you are saving up for a new bumper or something. Frank wont take it personally and it is not really a big deal.

UPDATE!!!

The skirts came in last Wednesday (4/15) and I was asked to bring the car in Friday (4/17). I looked at the skirts and they looked fine so all was well. I was told they would test fit skirts, remove them paint them and have it done by Monday (4/20).

About 5 hrs after dropping the car off I hear back from them that there is no way the skirts they bought will go on the car. I ask where they got them from and he said "Not from your first choice (Eric) because we couldn't ever get a hold of him so we went with your second choice." Now, I didn't have a second choice, I told them I want the skirts from Eric but here is a price comparison of another place that sells them but I have no idea of the quality of any other place than Eric. Well, tough luck.. they got some crappy skirts in!

I am then told my only real option is to have them patch the skirts. I say ok, but if it looks like crap I won't be happy and he said he has been told it will look perfect. (I have seen GREAT fiberglass work and know it can be done, that is if the talent exists at the shop it is at!) I agree to give it a shot and he says ok, we should still be done by Monday (4/20).

I called on Tuesday and am told that they have been fixed and primed. Paint will go on Wednesday (4/22) and they should be installed Thursday (Today, 4/23). If I get the call today to come pick it up, what options do I have it it looks bad? Can I tell them to keep working on it or replace the skirts with the ones I told them about in the first place? Can I insist on them paying another shop to do the work if their quality isn't great?

Anyhow, let's see if I get the call to pick it up!

Settle for nothing less than perfection! They broke em and it's their responsibility to make them look at least as good as the ones that were on there before.

Yup, like Chris said, dont settle for less.
If I were you, I would talk to the dealership, if they would just reimburse you for the cost of those skirts n shipment n painting n installing and be done with them!!!
Then, I would call Eric up, have the skirts 2nd day service mailed, take them to J&M paint or somewhere like that to get em painted n installed .

Sewell should make good on it. I would press them for it and expect perfection.
