Update

I talked to Calvin the tuner at Cobb today and he said he has complete control over the ecu and he can make as many maps and I want ie. map if something happens and I have to run w/o the s/c. another map would be if I run out of meth/water injection. He said it might take all day but he said he can do it so I believe him I will keep you guys posted weather you like it or not.

Update

Well I have been working very hard trying to get my car back together. The meth/water injection has been tough cause one there's not alot of room under the hood for the tank. So I am removing my coolant over flow and moving it to where the washer tank is. Also the oil and tranny cooler where all custom fitted it. I still need to get the intake tapped for the water injection and all the wireing inside for the gauges and stuff. Anyone know a good power wire that's easy to tap into under the dash?

I guess I don't NEED them but I am looking for safe reliable hp so I thought the meth/water injection would be good insurance and the gauges are mainly for the track. I guess I figured the car is down anyway might as well do everything at once so I can get everything tuned together. I miss my car but I know I have to have patents when going FI.

Ezpotato good luck getting your car up and running.

you can run more HP than the rods can take with just the blower, so reducing AITs isnt your limiting factor.

But hey, it sounds cool to say your have it.

While this is true, it's still a valid "safety" feature but the amount of additional protection you will get with lower AIT's is probably negligible. When I track my G I will typically run 105-110 unleaded which will burn much cooler than pump gas. It's a similar way to add some additional protection against detonation (rod-breaker) to be able to run a cooler combustion.

I think the luck that I have had with my Vortech setup (stock injectors, stock fuel pump, standard SS piggyback, NO gauges) is a conservative tune with a free flowing exaust. It's just not worth it to advance timing that 1 extra degree in order to get that little bit of extra HP on the dyno.

My advice to anyone going FI is to get a plenum spacer, free flowing exhaust, and most importantly make sure your tuner is experienced and knows how to program a conservative map based on your setup.

/\ Yes I agree 100% from what I've read meth/water injection is like running race gas all the time. I also have a upgraded rad with upgraded flex a lite slim fans, and oil cooler just to add alittle bit more safety also bigger injectors with return fuel line and intank walbro. I agree with the conservate tune is the way to go with stock block. Thanks for the feed back guys.

Well the super charger is in hopefully for the final time, it's been a long road but it's been fun getting to know GiGi. All the piping is done the only thing left is to wire up the meth/water pump and all the guages(boost, wide band o2, oil pressure) Here are some pics I will post vids in two weeks after the tune. Bring on the Wooooooooooosssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Drivers side piping going into the intercooler doesn't look right. Hanging down way too far?

Thanks I will try not to blow it, and I will be going for a more conservative tune so we will see I have tried to build a strong reliable car but if not I can always rebuild hopefully I won't have to right away the wife might start to get a little impatient at that point.
