question regarding heat shield

this might sound really strange (or i might be completely retarded), but i'm 99% sure that Concept Z sent me the wrong heat shield with my popcharger. There is NO hole in the side of the heat shield....am I missing something? I also don't have the rubber connection piece that should attach to the air diversion panel in the front. any input? i'll try to post a pic of the heat shield in a bit..

yeah.. A pic would help, but yeah.. you should have a hole in it so that the air can go from your air box onto the pop charger..

That looks just like the one for the JWT 350Z Intake Shield I installed not too long ago on a buddys car.

From what it looks like on their website, all of their pop charger kit shields look like that regardless of G35 or 350Z. Only specific ones have the extra hole to work with the G35 factory intake tube. Hmmm.. looks like it'll work, just have to eliminate the use of the factory tube that runs across the top of the radiator

yeah, that's what i thought. for now, i am just going without the heat shield...but i definitely expect to get what i paid for too. if the application was for a G, then the parts need to fit. guess i'll have to call them up tomorrow...oh well.

thanks for the feedback and for confirming!

What did you pay for it? Sell it to me so you can get one made for the G instead of the Z.. I had the same thing happen to me and I was so pissed I put the stock intake back in and sold the damn thing for 80 bucks so I took a 20 dollar hit on it..

thanks for the offer Jake - I'm just having them send out the correct heat shield and returning the Z one. the cone and bracket is for the G - it was just the heat shield that was incorrect.

and for what it's worth, the customer support at Concept Z was outstanding. Coz replied to me within 30 minutes or so of my inquiry and immediately corrected the problem. if anyone is thinking about buying parts, i would highly recommend that you check out their website first to see if they offer it.

****, same thing just happened to me, but from another source (used). Any ideas anyone??? I need the g35 heat shield.

I am assuming the filter, bracket should work for both?

filter is fine, but you will definitely need the G shield. I c?t recall if the bracket is interchangeable, but I want to say it is not.
