Yes you can, but the bigger question is what is your deductible and how much is the overall damage. If it's a $500 ded and you have $600 in damage, why waste your time with the call for $100 and a mark against your insurance? Even though it's not your fault it's still a claim and they consider that a liability. If you call in enough times with petty claims like this and have no one to fault for the repair, they can refuse to provide you further coverage for a certain period.

I say make the claim and get you an aftermarket bumper...USAA will still require you to go to one of their shops for the estimate to cut the check. If you go to Caliber (one of their auth shops) by Love Field, they actually gave me full value for my stock bumper cover which was close to $400 plus the painting, etc. Don't forget that you'll need a rental for a few days as well.

I still paid a bit out of pocket for the aftermarket since it was fiberglass and needed to be prepped/finished more than your standard poly but it was worth it and really saved me money rather than coughing up the full amount for an aftermarket bumper.

$250 deductible. go to a USAA shop, get the quote and USAA will cut a check minus the deductible.

and since it falls under uninsured policy, you dont take a hit on your collision insurance.
