Evo owner and his fly by..

I was just curious, does your car seem to illicit non warranted or un welcome attention from other performance car owners? I was on 121 headed west through the colony on the service road today when I passed a Evo 8 getting on to the service road as well. I was a good 3/4 mile ahead of him, of course in traffic, I get to the stop light ( mind you he covered the ground pretty quickly from when I saw him until we got to the light ) I’m in the middle lane and he’s in the left lane behind another car.

The light turns the other car turns, im already moving no burn out no fast departure, just drove. Next thing I know- super flyby blow off valve engine rev and all passing me on the left only to slow down 3 car lengths in front of me..

Now far be it from me to complain but I would think someone with 300+ horses ( I could see the intercooler sprayer hear the open exhaust and blow off valve- I am a car guy after all I did admire it ) could care less about a fly by on a little old infiniti- but I suppose id be wrong. Ive also come to the conclusion that rice is no longer reserved for cheaply put together cars. ( by cheap I mean half assed not money wise )

Today was definitely a day for showing out though, as similar instances happened with an Ferrari and a Chrysler crossfire..

I dont think im paranoid but then again most lunatics dont think they are either. I hardly ever got a second look in my mustang or raggedy MR2. So my question is does this happen to you al as well?

I had a beat up ragged out 240 come up next to me and rev to get his BOV to sound today. This thing was a real **** box. If I was going to make a car "go" I would at least not have quarter panels rusted off with a bent up *** rusted exhaust. Just saying. I dont care if you have a turbo.

Lol yea its a lot more common now a day to see a modified turbo car running around, especially a 240.

I JUST got my car back from R1Forever80s shop, and was driving back north on 75. A MURDERED OUT (I mean black EVERYTHING, it was gorgeous), 09-10 M3 gets on 75 at campbell, and wouldn't leave me alone.. I'm like DUDE, I'm not even worth your time.. I was even on the phone w/ my wife.. He's speeding up, and slowing down trying to get me to race him.. followed me and got next to me doing these antics all the way from campbell to spring creek.. I exited spring creek and he did as well, I turned into a gas station just to see if he'd follow, and he zoomed past..

DORK!

not sure how the original poster's experience is a flyby... sounds more like "every stop light is a new race" to me... and I think there are a few of us here that do the same thing

Well the only reason I qualified it as a fly by was due to a lack of "the look". You know, where I look at you, you look back, were lined up and we both decide to go for it, light goes green- slight grins and all ending in a thumbs up on a clear no traffic day straight away.

He was behind the car beside me and I hadnt so much as made eye contact with the guy, I couldnt see him save for the front bumper in my driverside view mirror.

I can apreciate a good heads up as much as the next gear head, under the right circumstances but i wouldnt say this was one of those times. Between the traffic ahead and him letting off I can't really file it under spirited driving either. Like I was saying I could be mistaken.

Don't forget Scion TC's, Civics, and like Syshs said pickups. For some reason every truck around here that has a younger driver always revs and speeds off. Such a waste of gas...
