haha to be honest, i wasn't sure if it was just my ignorance of how a S/C G35 was supposed to sound at idle, so i never said anything for fear of sounding like a dumbass

at any rate, i'm glad it's getting fixed!

Emad, I already had a loud pulley ... at least that's what I thought it was and it ended up being the bearing inside the jackshaft that goes to the cog pulley. I did the same thing and replaced all 3 idler pulleys but the noise didn't go away. I even have a before/after video.

I have a big long write up about it here somewhere if you it comes to that, hopefully it's just an idler pulley but if it's not you're going to have to order 2 large bearings from Vortech to replace them. The outside bearing inside the jackshaft on mine was burned out ... the lubrication inside the sealed bearing turned solid.

Wow beerviper that sounds like a pain, I am fairly certain we found the source of the noise cause when I removed it and spun the pulley by hand you could hear it making noise and feel the bearings inside clicking. It's hard to trace out noises like that cause when the belt turns it turns everything at once.

Hopefully it's just an idler pulley, I thought the same thing after listening to the bearing through a stethoscope and swore it was the top idler. Then I replaced all 3 idler's and nothing changed.

Here's a thread I created to detail what I did, I can't believe that was back in 2006 and 20k miles ago!! There are videos in there where you can listen to what mine sounded like before and after... With a 2.87 pulley I think it's inevitable that those bearings will go out eventually because you have to keep that belt so tight...
