R1: Doin' Work

I posted a pic in the "what have you done today" thread, but I thought this deserved a thread of its own.... I recently purchased a Kenstyle replica front lip for my G sedan. The fitment was not great to say the least. R1 (Stephen) did the install and paint and it came out great. Here are the details:

Fitment was off around the front side ducts by at least a 1/2":

The "posts" also did not extend up all the way to the top of the opening (they were about a 1/4" to 1/2" short):

So, he hacked off the pieces that did not fit and extended, filled, molded, and fiberglassed, etc....

And it turned out like this:

The finished pics are crappy, and I will get better ones once I get the new wheels on and the car cleaned up. Overall, it turned out great. The work he did is impossible to see, and the paint quality/color match is spot on. He wants to make some minor adjustments to make it fit a tad better, but overall it is great.

I would highly recommend Stephen's work to anyone on here. He gave me a great deal (I promise it will be better than any where else), and his work is second to none. He is also a super nice guy, and easy to work with. I couldn't be happier.

why didnt you just mold the whole thing to the bumper? looks good as it is but since all that work had to be done might as well went all the way and molded it to the bumper

I thought about it. I change my mind a lot, and while I think/say this is it, I am prone to change my mind. Also, the fact it is fiberglass, I would like the ability to repair it if something happens. Fiberglass front lips and daily drivers are not the best combination. If something happens to the lip, Stephen can probably easily fix it. That may not be the case if it was molded.

It looks like they weigh around 23-24 lbs. All-in-all that is pretty good for a 20" wheel, and about the same as the 19" Volk's I had.
