Ok finally got these and installed them on the car. Had an issue with one of the rear struts not having any pressure in it and the Topspeed guys swapped it out no questions asked.

What I'm wondering is if anyone else with these coilovers has experienced issues with their car feeling bouncy? (That's really the only word I can use to describe it) The front springs are 10k and the rear are 7k, if anything I would think the ride would be very stiff and unpleasant. I tried riding around with them at stock height and then lowered about 1.5", adjusted the damping to the hardest & softest settings without really any change. I'm starting to think that maybe I got a bad batch?

Thanks!

Bro, I had the same exact issue.. That is until today.. I took my car to Kustomz Unlimited in Garland, and got them to change the configuration of my coils to the true coil configuration.. let me tell you man, it's like night and day.. It really attests to the build quality of these coils. The fact that you can modify these coils in any way imaginable to make them fit your set up.

In the true coil configuration, the ride is stiffer, but in a good way. Before, I had to be careful around every dip and bump because the rear end of my car would bounce until it settled.. On the way home from Kustomz, I was actually aiming at dips and bumps to test the configuration, and it wouldn't budge. It actually feels like my car has some weight in the rear again as it should.

I really think this is the best configuration for these coils personally after trying them in the OEM set up first.. I would HIGHLY recommend all users of the MDUs to go to the true coil configuration in the rear to get the ride quality that you'd expect. I also have it set to the stiffest damping setting in the rear, and it's still a perfectly comfortable ride.

As far as the ride height, I'm still able to go as low as I was with the OEM set up, and that's pretty low.. So this doesn't affect your ability to alter your ride height either.

Did you get new struts as well to coincide with the true setup?

From my experience, if the strut that is provided with the OEM setup is used on a true setup, the compression and rebound would be off.

Going from an OEM style to true, would be a lower spring rate and you would essentially need a stiffer strut.

naw mean?

I totally know what you mean, which is another reason I think this was the way the coils were meant to be installed.. I'm telling you mayne, the feel of the setup is night and day. To the point to where it feels like it wasn't even meant to be installed using the OEM set up.

The shock is plenty stiff to support the setup..

What twalls is saying is the mdus come in a oem configuration which is strut separate from the spring. The rear mdus are capable of moving the spring on to the strut like the front. He said that configuration is better than the oem style. I will try it out and post up when i can

Thanks, I too would like to see that configuration in action, it would be a great help. I've seen a few articles on here where they do that kind of set up and remove the factory spring buckets and replace with adjustable control arms.

Yesterday I managed to spend some extra time with mine changing ride height as well as damping and the rear is much better now. Rears good, the fronts are a different matter as one of them will need to be exchanged out. A leaky seal on the passenger front squirts out fluid at the opening when compressed. Not good, and explains the excessive lowrider hydraulics bouncing in the front

Seems like I have the worst luck with coilovers on my personal car, but I'm remaining positive. The coilovers I installed on two other G's & a 350z have all been flawless.
