Props to T3k_V35

Just wanted to make sure that I give props to T3k_V35 on here for helping me out this afternoon. For those who don't know, he is a tech up at Crest. I have had a clicking coming from my rear suspension/frame for a LOOOOONG time (some of you might remember me bitching about it a while back). I had given up hope on figuring it out, but I think that after a few drives in the rain with his crazy click-o-finder we pinpointed the problem. It looks like it is as simple as a bushing needing to be replaced...my fingers are crossed.

Bottom line - very cool guy, very knowledgeable about our cars, and willing to help in any way he can (not to mention he has access to the service bays at Crest). Props to Jeremiah!

it's the rear passenger side bushing that is mounted in the back of the spring bucket (that the toe bolt sticks through). I'll be ordering some Whiteline bushings this weekend hopefully!

Remember that clickitty click that I had on my car before I started messing with my coilovers after exhausting all possible other options.? (it was at the RKC meet and you were like - "hey man, whats that noise?"). Remember how I told you that I thought it was same bushing you explained. Well it wasnt...It was the spring load on my rear. Perhaps that may be something to look at...also...you know I have a press and im pretty sure that those whitelines cant be any different than the front lower inner and outer bushings that most seem to replace. PM for price - throw you a deal you cant refuse..

I hope it is the bushing though - would hate for you spend $$ when its not needed..

I might just replace the bushings just for the added smoothness on the ride anyways. However, I AM curious about the springload adjustment...mine is still popping in the cabin somewhat (i think it is rattling the deck lid above the rear speakers). Maybe we can check that out since I think it needs to be adjusted anyways.

I’ve had a similar problem for awhile VV. Not sure where the noise is coming from but seems to be the rear passenger side as well. I can hear it when going over speed bumps and when I'm driving next to a wall or fence when going over cracks and bumps in the road. For some reason I think it is my exhaust but not really. Sounds like something is loose or metalic getting josted around. I hope you find the problem. Thanks!

^ t3k and I messed with it yesterday and it is definitely the rear passenger spring bucket bushing. It is odd that it would go out, but I've read where some people have had similar problems and the replaced bushing cleared it right up. Hopefully I'll be able to confirm here in a week or two once I get the new bushings.

dude i had the EXACT same problem... Grubbs had it like 3 times and just couldn't figure it out!!!! Sounded like when you run over a rock and it kicks up and hits the inside of the fender well... light clicking, but can definitely get annoying for those with sensitive hearing

03' track... Soon to be race car.
The chassis ear is an amazing tool....but yeah im deff interested in the springload thing too. I havent heard of that actually causing noise on these cars. But then again im used to dealing with stock setups. I appreciate the props Britt. And BlueBoB....i think some people just dont put in the effort at smoe of these places. Most of the guys in my shop have never even used the chassis ear.
Again im here if anyone needs a hand.
