starting to prep up for track usage.... finally
alright guys, i'm finally getting to the point where the car is working normally, (crossing my fingers, knocking on wood, etc) and it's time to put the 400 hp-ish to work.
i'm prepping my car up for some track usage. this is what i have planned in the next 2-3 weeks:
1. new bumper (K2 remix) gotta let air get to that IC haha
2. installation of Tokico D-Specs, RSB, FSB, LTB
3. brake pads (hawks) and fluid replacement
4. Getting re-tuned by Seth at CTP in Pantego, TX
5. extra set of rear wheels with tires
This is where some of you might come in handy. Of course, R1forever and AcidJake will be helping me out with a lotta stuff, but I need to see who's got some cheap 18s sitting around?
DOT4 brake fluid... where to buy it? Any auto shop? I know most race events check this stuff before hand as well.
I am estimating on attending 1-2 Novice track driving-school events in Oct or Nov, depending on when this stuff gets done.
if anyone wants to join, take a break from spending $1,000s on body parts, and come enjoy your car out at the track with me. I will be posting up when i do register, and a couple friends of mine with a Miata and 2010 M3 will be making their way out there with me.
Any help or experienced feedback would be helpful about this experience, and i'm effin' psyched about it.

When do you expect your car to be ready?
No rush as for time. They hit the track almost every saterday. I ride along with them sometimes. I hate to say they are not novices but we always bring people along who have not had much track time but its seriously not a big deal at all.

I myself cant afford to track my car yet. I have tracked "a" car but usually i ride around in my friends 500hp Z06

^ crazy monster has Penske coilovers. We literally can take corners @ unreal speeds and pull some nasty G's...

YOU SHOULD DO IT! My buddy can sit as your passenger and give you some pointers if you would like.
Last time i was at MSR we had a good hour and a half of track time

Theres an auto-x event in october at TMS...bring it fellas! Ive got my motive power bleeder ready and waiting. Everything else is CAKE.. wont be hard to find some 18s but I use 17x9s with 275s all around with R-COMPs Hoosiers...Also emad - look into some MB battles or weapons - you can score them NEW at discount tire direct dot com for a MORE than reasonable price (not to mention - they are 19 lbs!). Im even getting mine PC'd burnt orange...hehehe...HELL YES! It will be SYCK to see more G's up in the MIX...now if I can convince you guys of some drifting action - that would be BALLER..!
When I was tracking my car, I had a lot of issues with my rear-end. had a lot of hopping and big time swapping if I stayed on it exiting some turns.
I replaced my differential bushings to SPL solid bushings and toe'd out my rear to about .05 on both sides. adjusted camber to -2.25 and turned my dampers down to about mid-way...
not sure which one of those changes helped the most, but the car was planted after that.
I def recommend the solid diff bushings, especially for a boosted car. the extra power will def put some strain on those weak rubber bushings

Also, for suspension adjustments and track advice, call the guys at PTP in Fort Worth. They may not have the cheapest prices on parts, but they are top notch mechanics.
