DFW - Hookup on new mobile phone service?
After cutting off my data plan three years ago and just sticking to talk/text, I think I'm ready to move back into the data world. There's a ton of new smartphones out, which i haven't really kept up with what's what and good.
Looking to keep my monthly payment as little as possible. Ideally under $80/month. I do work for Bank of America, and I think several carriers offer discounts. Anybody?
Suggestions on phones as well?

+11111 I have the Droid X and Love it. The one thing that I dont like the no front camera for video chatting but that only drains the battery faster so I guess its a good thing that I dont have the feature......

Will, I've used Sprint for years and I couldn't be any happier still using them now. I also just recently switched to a smart phone as well and got the Samsung Epic 4G and I couldn't be happier.
My thing about smart phones is that I want them to be just as responsive as my laptop and the screen display to be just as good, which is why I opted for my Epic 4G. There are numerous smart phones out there, but some of them are just plain crap with slow processors, lack of multitasking abilities, and terrible screen displays. The Samsung Moment / Transform is a prime example of all those things.
If you're interested in upgrading to a smart phone, my advice to you would be to go and check them out in person. Play around with the settings, mess around with the screen displays, and active response times and see what you like the most. Decide on what is best for you and why you would use the phone.
With Sprint, I've found that my favorite phones by far would be my Epic 4G and the HTC Evo. However, also remember that when you enter the world of smart phones, your phone's battery life is going to suffer. Thankfully, since I drive so often, I invested in a phone car charger and have yet to actually encounter my phone dying on me when I am out.
I don't know if you could already tell, but I have a soft spot for Android phones. Nothing against iPhone and their users, but I don't personally have the need for an iPhone. Too bad you didn't live in Houston though. I have some friends that work in the cell phone courier business and could hook you up pretty easily. Ironically, they all drive G's. Go figure.
