Broken in is better actually.. Most new exhaust elements will rasp until broken in.. I got my berks for around the same price used and they have served me well since day 1..

Like Rob said, they have that coating on them as well that will only help your gains even more.. Definitely best bang for the buck performance mod for our car.. As long as the welds and honeycombs inside are good, you've got a great part at a great price..

What do you consider a "hobo" deal? a can of beans?

interesting factoid... I just found out my boss used to be on a race team with Steve Kan. He has known him for 15 years and said that we do not realize the caliber of tuner he is. You guys need to realize you will not get a chance like this again for a while.

Such a small world, I've worked for this guy for 6 years and he knew and raced with Steve back when he had his RX7... it's just funny how things work out like that. I know I am making the right choice by taking my car to him. I was just hoping to spread the wealth by getting you guys involved.

Wow that's pretty cool. Interweaving of lives.

So if this doesn't work Iwill have to buy the tuner version for him to tune me at a rate of 450?

that's correct, if you want to use Uprev Osiris and have Steve tune it, you will be spending much more compared to getting in on this group tune or going to someone who already has the uprev software.

thats why I really want people to step it up and put up the cash, if we help Steve get the software, he will help us with some awesome tunes.

oh and to all of you guys saying you are going FI, doesnt matter, you still need an ECU solution and a tuner!!! why not get this now an just update your tune once you go FI... you really won't end up spending THAT much more, infact you may make up the extra cost in gas mileage savings from the tune!!
