80db is a violation? wtf? Commercial trucks are all louder than that... not to mention a whole lot of bikes. And there is no distinction between high versus low sounds. My ride is deep (up to about 5500) anyway... and that's just nice and soothing. Soooothing I say!

In defense of the commercial trucks because I drive one daily. We are not allowed in neighborhoods so this wouldn't apply to us. Unless you happen to live in my parents neighborhood...then you will have to just deal with my dual 10" stacks with no mufflers just straight pipe.

+1... the red light cameras were installed to generate money... they think putting things like this in place generate funds... the red light cameras were such a flop, I very seriously doubt they would take the time to put this into place....

plus, when there's 30 cars around, how can they pin point the noise level of one car? impossible

This is awesome. If all the little douchebags paid attention to what they were doing there would be no need.

Cost for this is minimal IMO, and it'll bring more dollars into the city budget which means less out of my pocket.

Turn it down and you'll have no problems.

Sort of like a toll road/bridge where the toll is supposed to pay for the cost of it, but then they realize it's an eternal source of revenue and it never stops, price just keeps going up. Just thinking about how much money the Dallas tollway makes from dallas to frisco every day is mind-boggling.

yeah, then I think about the extra 80 bucks a month I pay to live where I live just to drive on the damn roads and get anywhere on time.

it will fail... it will be a civil ticket just like the red light camera tickets just because they cannot prove who was driving at the time of the incident
