Oil Weight Question

Alright guys, I've tried searching so not sure if I shouldn't make much of it or go ape sht on the guys from NTB.

Got a full synthetic Valvoline Oil change and idiots put 5/20. I'm thinking a 20w oil is to thin for our engines vs 5/30 or 10/30 which is what I normally use. Is it safe and just take care of it next time or should I get them to put the correct weight?

It's going to start getting colder, so i would say have them change it out - for free. it was their fault and they should own up to it.

Oh my trip to NTB was quite a pleasant one...specially when the dumb@$$ attempted to argue with me and get this convince me it was OK because it was synthetic...the poor people who get their cars scrwd up...{shaking my head}...anyhow he goes and gets the so-called computer printout that tells them which various weights are approved for the car to show me that 5w20 is acceptable...and yeaaaah, it only showed "5w30"...

"ummmmm, I'm very sorry sir, my apologies...ummmm we're training new people and ummmm" so I stop him and reply..."so you're telling me that I could have ruined my engine based on an "assumption" by your tech and by you?!? (in front of other customers) "again, I apologize sir and we'll take care of it right now"....IDIOTS...even the guys at walmart do a better job...hellz, they even ask if I want the Mobil 1 EP or High Mileage...

well done sticking to your guns... synthetic oil just means it's synthetic. It doesn't mean that the weight tolerance of a motor is different... dumbasses

Either way, glad things are right in the world. This is why I do my own! Only one idiot to deal with, not a whole shop full.

If you ever want help or just wanna use my garage, hit me up and we can figure something out.
