Those movies killed everything about the import scene. It was so much better before those lame *** movies came out.

honestly those movies got me in to the import scene... I know I'm not the only one. The market for parts and the prices of those parts would be so much worse now if they didn't get all the attention from those lame *** movies.
yes they also brought a lot of negative attention, but you can't deny that they improved the scene by getting a lot more people into it.
the CD is a joke, dunno why you guys are taking it so seriously.

i know it's a joke. with that lineup of artists, (which i can only assume) i KNOW it's a joke. then again, you do like Linkin Park.
haha jk
and yes those movies are cheesy and gave a strange rep to the scene, but they did blow the scene up even more, and yet we still keep on going and seeing them haha

There were for sure plenty of parts available at good prices before those movies came out. They made companies like APC appear which made ricer parts.
Greddy, HKS, DC Sports ect... all existed long before F&F came out.

and companies that make cheap parts keep the big guys from gouging... no doubt that those companies existed before, but many new companies have come around due to the increased demand and supported platforms that previously would have been ignored because of popularity. also look at all the race shops that are coming up to support the need for all the work requested. This stimulated growth would not have happened with a lack of interest. F&F is not all to credit or blame for this but it certainly got a good mass of people interested in perusing modifying cars. For good and for bad, that is to say it is not a complete waste of a series.
I believe for all the bad it has brought into the car scene, it has also brought an equal amount of good. It's obvious we disagree which is fine, but maybe we should talk about it elsewhere instead of mucking up this thread more.

Very good point.. I have never looked at it that way. I always just see the douchebags with Civics with huge wings and fart cans who think they are car guys. I know we have seen a few G35's show up to some meets with the same kind of mods (Blake you know which car Im talking about)Originally Posted by sexyrob

Anywhoo you guys take some vids of you rolling in jamming Ja Rule hahaha
Uh, sorry boys, but that's not exactly correct. Business 101: low cost product vendors tend to cause the big boys with the quality products to go out of business because the idiot civic drivers think the cheap product is 'good enough'. Yes, it can help drive down the price of the good stuff, but a smart company will have to make cuts somewhere to cover the discounted price and maintain margins.
